Scooby-Doo Daphne Child Costume

Costume includes wig, light green scarf, magenta mini dress, boot tops. Available in Child sizes: Small (4-6), Medium (8-10), and Large (12-14). This is an officially licensed Scooby-Doo costume
Customer Review: Bad sizing chart
My daughter was so excited for this costume. It came just in time for her school party. However the boot covers and the wig were way to small. (I think the wig would fit an infant-maybe!!) My daughter is a small 9 year old(wears size 7 in jeans) So I thought 8-10 size would fit. It left her in tears!
Customer Review: Very pleased
Prompt delivery and worth the money. My daughter still wears the costume for dress up around the house.

Rustic Pirate Lady - Elite Adult Collection Costume

This top quality and sassy costume includes a gold trimmed embossed vinyl corset vest, gauze blouse, pants, bandana, gold trimmed boot tops and hat. Earring not included. Headpiece is open in the center.
Customer Review: Great costume; great fit.
This costume seems to be fairly well-made of decent (not great, but decent) quality fabrics and is complete with hat and boot-tops (which some of the others did not include). I am 5'9 and weigh about 130lbs. I Normally wear a size 6. I ordered a size medium, but wondered if I should've ordered a small. Glad I didn't because the fit turned out to be perfect for me.
Customer Review: Caveat Emptor
I bought this costume last year, and bought for my size based on the measurements provided by the manufacturer. Which is clearly located on Mars. I am not in size denial. I don't mind buying large clothes to accomodate the fact that I really love delivery pizza. I'm begging you, if you really want this costume, buy it at least one size larger than your actual, never disclose not even to your best friends, size. I had to cut myself out of the top. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to cut the side seam of a garment you are WEARING? In the end, I had to rip out the seams and insert side panels that tied so I could adjust it. The material is not flexible enough to allow you to be a millimeter larger than the costume. Just keep that in mind. And keep the seam ripper handy, matey.

Customer Review: tin man outfit
Delivery was fast and the item was in great shape! Thanks for the prompt service! Too bad the heart, axe and gloves don't come with the outfit! Oh well! Thanks again!
Customer Review: cheap material
this costume was not made for an adult if so the adult would have to be under 100lb and about 4' tall. My husband is 5'5" and 140lb's and he had to wear it open in the back. the material is so cheap that it fell apart taking it out of the package.

Dog Costume - Hot Diggity Dog Halloween Costume (Hot Dog w/Mustard) - Large

HOT DIGGITY DOG: This Halloween, your dog will really be the HOT DOG you always knew he or she could be. This large Costume is topped with Mustard.
Customer Review: I love it!
I searched and searched for my pets hot dog costume and this one was the best because it looks like the mustard is right on them! I loved it and so did my basset hounds!
Customer Review: good size for my corgis
I bought both the mustard and ketchup hotdogs for my two corgis. I agree with other reviewers that the sizing is a bit confusing. The large fits my corgis perfectly, and this breed is not typically considered large dogs, so make sure to measure your dogs before ordering. My dogs are about 20-24 inches from neck to tail, and weigh a little less than 30 lb. I have also added a "customer image" up there on this page so you will have a better idea if you are considering buying this costume (and of course to show off my cute dogs...). Since I didn't want to spend too much money but do want to dress them up for the Halloween, I think this was a good choice. And the shipping was fast!

Dark Knight Batman Muscle Chest Child DC Comic Superhero Super Hero Costume

The Dark Knight is an upcoming 2008 American superhero film based on the fictional DC Comics character Batman and is a sequel to 2005's Batman Begins. Be one of the first to own the licensed Batman The Dark Knight costume. Costume features a black jumpsuit with attached boot tops, headpiece, cape and belt. A great Halloween costume!

T-Rex Child Costume

Includes: printed jumpsuit with vinyl accents attached tail, hand covers, and a separate matching character foam hood. Socks not included.
Customer Review: Good price, poor quality
I expected more, though I suppose I shouldn't have, considering the price. Do not trust the picture, which makes the costume look as if the tail is stuffed and the material fluffy. In fact, the tail, along with all other trim, is cheap vinyl, and the the material is thin and runs like cheap hose. Nevertheless, my boys, who are rather less critical than I am, love it and wear it often, despite its pitiful condition. If price is all you're worried about, here you go. If quality is important, go elsewhere.
Customer Review: T-Rex Costume
Delighted with the costume which arrived very promptly. At the time I placed the order I wanted two other costumes which I bought from other suppliers and was shocked to then be charged for postage and packing separately. This was not made obvious at the time I placed the order - had it been I would probably have ordered all three costumes from the same supplier.

When is the best time to begin your search for Halloween decorations and costumes? The answer is as soon as you can. Today, you can begin at the end of summer if you use the internet instead of relying on your local stores. Halloween is a fun and spooky night that everyone can enjoy, however, if you wait until the day before time to go trick or treating, your kids may not find a costume they want as the store sells out quickly of the most popular costumes. However, online you can find costumes all year long and decide months in advance and then order in time to receive all the costumes you need for the entire family.

When it comes to decorations, you should look and see if you have any left from last year and then add to these. Creating a spooky and fun yard and home for Halloween is just as much for the adults as it is the kids. You can find such things as doormats that make spooky sounds, tapes of all kinds of scary sounds, zombies for the front yard, moving hands, and more. The possibilities are endless as long as you have the imagination to transform your yard and home to the spookiest in the neighborhood.

Once again, we must look at the costumes as these are really the most important part of Halloween. Each person can be any character they desire. You can create any type of Halloween party and go back in time to the early 1800's, the 1960's and the Hippie generation, or even create a party with a scary theme such as a crypt or graveyard. What about turning your entire yard or party room into Dracula's Den? Of course, the way you decorate and what you wear depends on whether you will have children or adults at your party.

If you are searching for costumes, you have to choose the costumes for their ages. For babies you can choose such costumes as kitty, elephant, pumpkin, lamb, and monkey. Toddler costumes are the most popular list are ballerinas, Spiderman, Pikachu, Minnie Mouse, and Mickey Mouse. As the children grow so do the costumes they wish to wear. You can find all kinds of costumes for the older children such as animals, Hannah Montana, Princess, aliens, and ninja warriors.

Teens of course, would not want to wear any of the above, as they would certainly say, "those are for kids". Teen girls would prefer such Halloween costumes as Elizabeth Pirate, Devil Fairy, or Genie Princes, whereas the teen boys are sure to want such Halloween costumes as Ghost Rider, Davy Jones, Sir Peter the Knight of Wolfsbane, and Jack Sparrow.

Of course, teens may wish to create their own unique Halloween costume and add a wig, especially the girls. Some of the wigs they may desire include China Doll, Angel, Long Punk, or Elvira.

Remember, Halloween is a night of fun, enjoy it, it only comes once a year.

WITCHES BROOMSTICK - HALLOWEEN - REAL BRISTLES - COSTUME ACCESSORY PROP - NEW

IF IT IS A WITCH YOU BE, THEN BE SURE TO HAVE THAT FLYING BROOMSTICK TOO! THIS BROOMSTICK IS MADE OF BAMBOO, WITH TWIG BRISTLES TO GIVE YOU A REALISTIC FEEL.
Customer Review: A costume Prop...that's about it.
I was hoping for a higher end costume prop than what I got. But considering that's all it is, a prop. I'm ok with it. The broom is shorter than I imagined but is the length advertised. The bristles were already falling out when it arrived. I was hoping for something I could use year after year - this isn't it.
Customer Review: Perfect for your little Halloween Witch!
This is a perfect size for my 7 year old and she is very excited for Halloween to come with this broom to complete her ensamble. I wouldn't really recommend it for adults because it isn't that long but for a child it is perfect. Shipping was very fast to an APO address which is great because I didn't have to worry about it not getting here in time. I haven't seen any bad parts about it yet but Halloween is still to come.

As Halloween approaches, many of us have some party or Halloween event to go to. Since it's only once a year, don't you want to make it exciting by choosing a great costume? If you are still searching for the right one, here are some creative ideas that have been growing in popularity.

  1. Sarah Palin - With the upcoming elections and the famous SNL skit with Tina Fey, Sarah Palin has become a fashion spectacle. From her hair to the famous glasses, more and more people have been seeking the Palin look. If you're looking to make that Sarah Palin transition, there are relatively cheap ways you can pull it off. Get yourself a light brown wig unless you already have similar hair color. The wig should run you about $30 to $45 and you should be able to style it to match one of her famous styles. No need to get the real hair as it will cost you a pretty penny and if this is just for a couple nights, why bother. Get yourself a pair of rimless glasses. Palin's are designed by Kazuo Kawasaki and distributed by a Los Angeles based Optical distributor, Italee Optics. They range anywhere between $200 to $400%2B. So unless you're looking to change your prescription glass frame, you can go with a cheap knock off. Finally, choose a business suit, pants or skirt and you're good to go.
  2. John McCain - Another popular costume due to the upcoming elections is John McCain. This is very simple to pull off since all you need is a suit and a McCain mask.
  3. Barack Obama - And another popular costume. Similar to the McCain costume, just wear a suit and the mask and you're set.
  4. Flavor Flav - As much as this guy annoys me, his costume has grown in popularity with teenagers and some adults. The clock, Viking helmet, and sun glasses come in one kit that's about $15. The outfit is sold separately for about $40 to $50.
  5. Batman, Joker - The Dark Knight costumes have grown in popularity with kids and adults. There are different versions of the costumes ranging from the simple costume to the more expensive, more defined and durable costumes. Take a look for yourselves and you'll be able to see the obvious differences. Overall, all versions of the costumes are good and if you're like me, you'll only be wearing this a couple of times this year so no point in spending a fortune.

Dog Costume - Hot Diggity Dog Halloween Costume (Hot Dog w/Ketchup) - Medium

HOT DIGGITY DOG: This Halloween, your dog will really be the HOT DOG you always knew he or she could be. This Medium Costume is topped with Ketchup.
Customer Review: Horrible quality!
I just received my order, and I have to say I am very disappointed in this product. I actually have to sew one of the Velcro straps on, because it is not even attached! The over - all sewing on this product is horrible. I will not be ordering from your company again, and will not recommend you.
Customer Review: super cute

Kids love wearing costumes and playing dress-up. Some of the favorite "characters" to dress up as include various occupations, such as doctors, police, lawyers, and others. Doctors and pharmacists tend to be some of the most popular of all. If your child is interested in playing one of these characters at Halloween or for any other occasion, you will need a costume. Lab coats, scrubs, and stethoscopes are staples of such costumes.

Fortunately, kids lab coats are available in a variety of sizes to fit the little ones. You can even get lab coats with embroidered names or logos on the breast pocket, to enhance the child's experience with a little bit of realism. Different patterns and designs of child's lab coats are sometimes available, but you can certainly find a great variety of styles of scrubs, if they will suffice for your child's needs.

Sometimes you may be able to find a child's costume set that includes more than just a lab coat. These are usually available in costume stores or around Halloween. If you do find one of these sets, they are the perfect solution for kids who want to be a doctor or other medical professional. They often come complete with lab coat or scrubs, surgical cap and shoe covers, surgical mask, shirt, and pants. Pretend and Play makes just such a doctor set, which includes a plastic doctor's bag, battery-operated stethoscope, pager, thermometer, and bandages.

Since some parents worry about their kids wearing grotesque or violent costumes at Halloween, occupational costumes are an excellent alternative. Your child can present a positive alternative to the scary and gory costumes so often seen at Halloween today.

Nut and Bolt Halloween Costume

Nut and Bolt Halloween Costume, be the most clever couple at the party.

You can call it the emasculator of the old king, a sexual symbol, latent with fertility or a good luck charm for a dairy herd. It's been used as an antidote for poison, a fire suppressant, a protection against evil spirits, a pain reliever for rheumatoid arthritis and as a gift of peace between warring neighbours. This parasitic shrub with sticky white berries has somehow shrugged off its shady past to become a tradition of our Christmas. But this is, after all, a season of myth, legend, and make believe.

Today mistletoe, while not exactly decking our halls, is hung over doorways to entice a couple to exchange a kiss. And we have forgotten even the meaning of its name.

The name is perhaps derived from the ancient belief that mistletoe was propagated from bird droppings, a belief related to the then-accepted principle that life could spring spontaneously from dung. It was observed in ancient times that mistletoe would often appear on a branch or twig where birds had left droppings. "Mistel" is one of the Anglo-Saxon words for "dung," and "tan" is "twig". So, mistletoe means "dung-on-a-twig". Not a name that would normally encourage thoughts of romance.

Kissing under the mistletoe was practiced in the Greek festival of Saturnalia to bestow fertility and the dung from which the mistletoe was thought to arise was honoured for its life-giving power. From the earliest times mistletoe has been one of the most magical, mysterious, and sacred plants of European folklore.

Scandivanians enjoy kissing under the mistletoe. In earlier days they associated mistletoe with their goddess Freya and the part it played in the death of her son, Baldur the Beautiful. Once Baldur had a dream of his own death and, frantic in her anxiety, Freya asked all things, living and dead, not to harm him. She was given this promise by everything in the elements, but the mistletoe, a parasite, was no part of air or earth. Alas ! It was overlooked ! Loki the Trickster soon discovered this, and made an arrow from the little shrub. He tricked poor blind Bod into shooting the arrow at Baldur - with the inevitable result. The mistletoe grieved for its part in the tragedy, weeping until its red berries turned pale, and Freya forgave the plant with a kiss. Vikings used a branch to betoken peace.

Mistletoe is especially interesting botanically because it's a partial parasite. French tradition tells us that mistletoe is poisonous because it was growing on a tree that was used to make the cross of Jesus. Because of this, it was cursed and denied a place to live and grow on earth, doomed forever to be a parasite.

The mistletoe of the sacred oak was especially sacred to the ancient Celtic Druids. The ritual of cutting the mistletoe symbolised the emasculation of the old King by his successor. Mistletoe was long regarded as both a sexual symbol and the "soul" of the oak. It was gathered at both mid-summer and winter solstices, and the custom of using mistletoe to decorate houses at Christmas is a survival of this tradition.

In medieval times branches of mistletoe were hung from ceilings to ward off evil spirits and placed over house and stable doors to prevent the entrance of witches. Farmers would give the Christmas bunch of mistletoe to the first cow that calved in the New Year thus bringing good luck to the entire herd.

Mistletoe is also believed to lower blood pressure, improve circulation and relieve the pain of rheumatoid arthritis although these effects have not been scientifically validated. In some alternative medicine therapies, mistletoe is used as long-term therapy to prevent hardening of the arteries.

If you hang up mistletoe this Christmas, please follow the correct etiquette: a man should pluck a berry when he kisses a woman under the mistletoe, and when the last berry is gone, there should be no more kissing ! Remember that an unmarried woman not kissed under the branch will remain single for another year, and always burn the Christmas mistletoe on the twelfth night lest all the couples who kissed under it never marry.

Come, kiss me under the dung-on-a-twig and raise your glass to mistletoe and a Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving encompasses the concepts of gratefulness and friendship. As a holiday, it has a special history and a plethora of rituals. The idea of giving thanks for food and friendship did not start with today's Thanksgiving holiday. It was always there, even before the major religions admitted it inside their rituals.

Earlier than the time humans settled down in certain parts of the planet earth, the hunters rejoiced and thanked their gods of nature for making the prey available. Later, when the settlements formed and people learned farming, giving thanks for nature's gifts after a bountiful harvest became a seasonal ceremony.

Autumn is known to be a generous season to the New England area with its game and harvests. During the late sixteenth century, the Europeans who migrated to the Americas wrote about the different and flavorsome foods found in the new continent. The Wampanoag, the indigenous people of the New England with whom the early settlers celebrated the first Thanksgiving, already had celebratory rituals showing their thankfulness to nature.

Having gone through times of hunger and deprivation, the early colonists of the Plymouth plantation and their governor William Bradford were delighted with the bounty of 1621, and together with Wampanoag people and their Chief Massasoit, they celebrated the harvest for three days with entertainment, food, and friendship. As much as this celebration signaled entertainment for the Indians, it meant serious worship for the Puritans.

What the meals for those three days were like at that time is difficult to pinpoint, but culinary history of the region shows that the pies and the baking came much later after the people established colonies and built ovens. The Thanksgiving food in 1621 probably consisted of venison, wild turkeys, fish, onions, corn, berries, cranberries, and chestnuts.

The concept of friendship and diplomacy between the Indians and the colonists, unfortunately, did not remain for very long. The quick increase of the colonist population in New England led to tension and wars.

The early colonists were not called pilgrims. The word "pilgrim" was coined, out of context, during the early nineteenth century, and the idea to make Thanksgiving a national holiday spread around much later when a book, Chronicles of the Pilgrim Forefathers was published. In time, what had started as a harvest celebration became the national holiday, Thanksgiving, in 1863.

This holiday owes its birth to a woman, Sarah Josepha Buell Hale--the editor of a women's magazine Godey's Lady Book. Mrs. Hale campaigned for years before she was successful to convince President Lincoln to proclaim it as a national holiday. Since the American South saw this as a Yankee holiday, they made up their own Thanksgiving Day; however, the holiday took hold, and each ethnic community who immigrated to the new world added its own special touch to the food and the entertainment of the day.

In our time, a classic Thanksgiving dinner consists of turkey, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and root vegetables with additions from the local and ethnic dishes and flavors, such as lasagna and turkey stuffed with a duck. The Thanksgiving meal's main dish is the turkey. The Thanksgiving turkey gained presidential fame when the National Turkey Federation presented President Truman with a turkey. Eventually, pardoning a turkey from becoming a meal turned into a yearly ritual for the United States Presidents.

Thanksgiving, on the last Thursday of each November, is the heartfelt celebration of a grateful, melting-pot nation. May it spread and bring peace and prosperity to the entire world.

Indiana Jones Deluxe Indiana Adult Costume

Includes: Jacket, pants and hat. Whip and shoes not included. This is an officially licensed Indiana Jones costume.

Halloween and the Presidential Election come within a few days of each other this year. Is there any connection between the costumes people choose and the outcome of elections?

This year Halloween retailers are saying there is an explosion of orders for Barack Obama Masks, John McCain masks and Sarah Palin costumes. Since Obama and McCain basically wear suits, there is no real need for a complicated costume. A standard dress suit worn with a purchased mask does the trick.

Go online and look at pictures of your favorite presidential candidate. Pay close attention to the type of shoe, shirt and tie he typically wears. You might even want to add a campaign button to promote your favorite party.

A Sarah Palin costume consists of the "beehive" wig, glasses, and a campaign button. Depending on whether the purchaser is pro or con Palin, they might add some other touches. What are people saying when they don these costumes? Sarah Palin supporters will show her competency. A business suit, a tasteful brooch or simple necklace, and those hot high heeled shoes make a great costume for a Palin supporter. On the other hand, those wanting to spoof Palin are wearing a tiara, a beauty pageant ribbon, or they have her toting a gun for one of her legendary hunting trips. As they say, the accessories are everything.

With all the discussion about how to dress like the Presidential or Vice-Presidential candidates, it is worth looking at what those costume choices might actually mean. Halloween suppliers say sales of masks of presidential candidates have predicted the winner in the past several campaigns.

In the past three elections, nationwide sales of U.S. Presidential candidate masks revealed the winner days before general election results were in. In 2004 the Spirit Halloween Presidential Index showed George W. Bush masks outselling John Kerry masks at a rate of 65% to 35%. In 2000 the George W. Bush mask took 57% of the sales vs. 43% for Al Gore. And in 1996 Bill Clinton masks were 71% of the market vs. 29% for Bob Dole. A fluke or a real predictor?

The mask factor is good news for Obama so far. After the first month of Halloween 2008, Barack Obama and John McCain mask sales show Obama is leading at 67% while McCain has 33%. There is still a month until election day so anything can happen during that time.

Most important, regardless of which candidate you support, remember to "Get Out and Vote". Voting is a privilege in our society. Nothing is more important than casting your vote on election day. Remember, the election was decided in 2004 by an extremely small margin - every vote does make a difference. So support your favorite candidate by buying his mask for Halloween and then voting for him on November 4.

Do you know the story about Halloween? Hundreds of years ago in Northern France, lived the Celtics. The Celtics worshiped nature and had many gods, with the sun god as their favorite.

The Celtics celebrated their New Year on November 1st. They celebrated every year with a festival and marked the end of the "season of the sun" and the beginning of "the season of darkness and cold."

On the eve before their new year (October 31), it was believed that all the dead people were called together . The dead would take different forms, with the bad spirits taking the form of animals. The most evil taking the form of cats.

On October 31st after the crops were all harvested and stored for the long winter the cooking fires in the homes would be extinguished. The Celtic priests, would meet in the hilltop in the dark oak forest and would light new fires and offer sacrifices of crops and animals. As they danced around the the fires, the season of the sun passed and the season of darkness would begin.

The Halloween we celebrate today includes all of these influences, apples, nuts, and harvest, black cats, magic, evil spirits and death, and the ghosts, skeletons and my favorite pumpkins.

Turn your yard into a Halloween masterpiece with an extra large outdoor pumpkin. It will have the neighbors envious.

Step 1: On the garbage bag draw a large pumpkin face. You can use tape if you are using a black trash bag.

Step 2: Fill your garbage bag with newspaper

Step 3: Once your garbage bag is full tie the top

Step 4: Place pumpkin in your yard for Halloween
